Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

MEUC Journal of Biomedical and Life Sciences

Double-Blind Review

MEUC Journal of Biomedical and Life Sciences applies a double-blind peer review process. The identities of reviewers are not disclosed to authors, and manuscripts are evaluated according to scientific quality, originality, methodology, clarity, and relevance to the journal scope.

Initial Editorial Screening

The Editor-in-Chief may reject manuscripts before peer review if they do not comply with submission guidelines, lack scientific quality, contain serious ethical concerns, or fall outside the aims and scope of the journal.

Reviewer Assignment

If the manuscript passes the initial screening, it is assigned to a manuscript editor who assesses its scientific level and decides whether suitable reviewers should be invited for expert evaluation.

Reviewer Recommendations

  • Accept without revision
  • Minor revision
  • Major revision
  • Reject

Revision Stage

Authors are required to submit a detailed response to reviewers’ comments. The response should clearly explain all changes made in the manuscript and indicate the relevant line numbers or sections to help editors and reviewers verify the revisions efficiently.

Multiple Review Rounds

Some manuscripts may require two or more rounds of peer review, depending on the reviewers’ comments and the extent of revisions required. Revised manuscripts that do not adequately address reviewers’ comments may be returned to authors for further correction.

Final Decision

Based on reviewers’ reports and editorial assessment, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection. The final decision is guided by scientific merit, ethical compliance, editorial standards, and journal scope.

Proof Correction

After acceptance, galley proofs are sent to authors for final correction before publication. Authors should carefully check the proofs, as major changes that depart from the accepted manuscript are not permitted at this stage.
